The wheel

Today was probably the most interesting lesson i've sat through so far during this whole confirmation process.
Honestly, I don't enjoy going to confirmation class/ccd because I don't learn a lot, and the class makes me not want to be there.
Some people in my class are disruptive, and some of the speakers make me not want to listen to them.

Instead of having a teacher, there are guest speakers. The guest speaker for today was Abbey Causey, the Social Justice worker for our church.
I learned:

-"Plant an act; reap a habit.
Plant a habit; reap a vitue (good thing) or vice (bad thing)
Plant a virtue or vice; reap a character
Plant a character; reap a destiny (who you are, or who you'll become)"

-"Power" is the ability to act.

-"Your plans aren't always God's plans."

-"Love in truth and action."

The closing prayer was a song called "Follow me", and the chorus goes:

"Am I following Jesus, or just believing in Christ?
Cause I can believe and not change a thing.
But following will change my whole life.
He never said,'Come acknowledge my exsistence!'
Or, 'Believe in me, I'm the seond person of the trinity!'
But 87 times he said...'Follow me!'"

... and what i learned from the facebook application..
"You keep wanting to know how things will play out, keep asking to see the future. God doesn't give anyone the power to know the future, because life becomes maddeningly boring when you know everything upfront. So, instead of struggling, enjoy the uncertainty - to be alive means to not know. "
